"AFA Blue-Green Algae"—an ancient alga said to have originated 3 billion years ago.
This ancient algae is harvested from only one place in the world: Klamath Lake in southern Oregon. It is a type of cyanobacteria that originated during the Precambrian era (specifically the Archean Eon)—long before plants or animals existed—and laid the foundation for life on Earth by generating oxygen. Natural Cosmo began extracting the essence from this algae in 2008 and was the first company in Japan to use it in shampoo.

This treatment shampoo is formulated with 27 types of botanicals and bacteria, including ancient AFA blue-green algae. We deliberately chose not to create a separate conditioner; instead, we blend a handcrafted treatment extract directly into the shampoo, making it gentle enough to wash the entire body. Because it leaves no sticky residue typical of conditioners, it delivers a silky-smooth finish after drying and even reduces drying time—offering a whole new approach to hair care.

Shozo Uebayashi, the representative of Natural Cosmo, was diagnosed with glaucoma at the age of 31.
Inspired by the saying "You are what you eat,"
he stopped taking all glaucoma medication at age 40, studied orthomolecular nutrition, and resolved to regain his health through diet. At the same time, he became a bodywork therapist to gain a better understanding of the body from the outside in.
Natural Cosmo was launched in 2007 after he encountered two "ancient natural" foods—AFA blue-green algae and ancient minerals—which remain the core of the brand to this day.
In 2009, the development of a treatment shampoo began for Ayame-chan, whose scalp had developed chemical sensitivity; using AFA blue-green algae and herbs sourced from around the world, he started extracting essences in *umeshu* (plum wine) jars.

What are the drawbacks of non-diamine dye?
✖️Cannot produce dark colors when used alone.

Why does it have such great shine and texture?
It's because it contains an extremely high amount of pigment.
Non-Diamine produces a clear, transparent color,
Therefore, to achieve the same intensity as Diamine, approximately 1.3 times as much dye is required.
Because of this, it penetrates deeply into areas where melanin has been lost, leaving hair full.
And yet, its distinctive feature is that it doesn't darken the hair.
